A Random Post 26.10.09

An add-on to my previous post …

My cousin still haven’t sent me the photos we took at Aerith’s birthday.

Some pictures of the clothes as mentioned.

On a side-note, i packed my closet cos’ it was getting messy while i put aside my unwanted clothes. As usual, i arranged my clothes in a way for speed-picking and hangers for the “rainbow” visual effect.

Guess what’s the labels for?

In order of sequence;

my “faves” (decided on grouping my absolutely-must-bring-along-clothes 2 months ago, … after seeing how natural disasters attacked the neighbouring countries. Not only clothes; undergarments, beauty products, jewellery, FYP stuff, etc too, … just in case, so i am confident that i can evacuate in less than 10minutes if there is a need … My parents said i am crazy; put aside the fact that Singapore is considered a safe country, who will bring along these “生外物”in times of emergency anyway? Oh well, it pays to be prepared, … that’s what i believe … =P)

Followed by tops; sleeveless (thin straps to thick straps) to non-sleeveless (non-collared to collared), then

Dresses; sleeveless (thin straps to thick straps) to non-sleeveless, then

Skirts, then

Jackets, then

Outfits for formal occasions.

HC362 report: will add in the small points next week; have to settle the other reports first.

Decided to incorporate the whole theory A for my FYP, instead of leaving out the last portion cos it’s irrelevant to theory B. So now, i am struggling whether to leave theory B as it is, or remove everything cos’ of the 20,000 word-limit. At least i started on my chapter 2; 10% done.

Haven’t start to draft my MB106 content, but i know what to write. Hopefully, i can write it out before Thursday.

Had our family BBQ at Summerdale …

Our food … Ended up my Mummy BBQ-ing the food when my older cousins left; helped to unwrap and serve the food, but it was way too hot for me to stay near the fire. So i diverted all my attention to playing with Xuanxuan and chasing after her all the time. Still, i did help to fan the fire and clean up the place …

I am a good girl …

Caught up with more Taiwan idol dramas; 《桃花小妹》and《下一站，幸福》… Will do a review when i have the time.

P.S: no more stories could shock me anymore after hearing the latest 《溏心风暴》updates …

But i had nothing exciting to blog about, so this would be a boring post on how i spent my last 2 weeks …

Settled the meals myself when my parents went to Taiwan last week …

• Loved toasted bread with picnic ham and melted cheese. Completed within 10 minutes.
• Loved stir-fry instant noodles with egg. Completed within 20 minutes.
• Loved porridge with meat-balls, dried scallops and mushrooms. Completed within 30 minutes.
• Loved 冬粉with Seafood Tom Yam soup. Completed within 40 minutes.
• Loved Burger King’s Grilled Chicken Burger.
• Loved Subway’s Cold Cut Trio, ONLY cucumber slices and honey mustard, especially Oatmeal Raisins cookies.
• Loved NTU Canteen B’s Chicken Chop and Sphagetti with Mushroom cream sauce.
• Loved Sweet Talk’s Passion Red Tea with black pearls and coloured coconut jelly.
• Loved McFlurry with Oreo bits.

Attended Aerith’s 1st birthday party last Saturday.  Due to my cousin’s implusive online shopping habits, i gained some brand-new clothes; either it was too big or it was too long for her. Drove us to Pasir Ris’s Aranda Club; saved me from a long 1 hr-MRT ride. Had fun with dear Xuanxuan; she’s so cute；姨姨爱你 …

Still waiting for my cousin to tag me; wanted to see the photos we took last Saturday. Will upload pictures of the stuff my Mum bought for me from Taiwan and maybe, the clothes i got from my cousin too.

The rest of the time, i am stuck at home doing my reports.

Completed my HC362 presentation and report this week，《中国「崛起」与海外华人的「大中华民族主义」——以印尼华人为例》；the teacher praised us for using a theory and having many examples to support our points; he didn’t have much time to pick on us; told us to add some small points to emphasize our conclusion; i hoped we gave a good report.

Need to email my FYP stuff by next Wed to my mentor. Finished writing chapter 1 which was the requirement, but i hope to finish 1/3 of my chapter 2 too, if time permits. Realised that the theory i am using actually had a Chinese translated version; i know i am late to realize this, but luckily still in time to write my chapter 2 which is solely on explaining the theory; no more extra translation work.   =)

Doing my MB106 report, or at least i plan to finish drafting out the content by this weekend.

My favourite Sec 4 cousin decided to stay at my house, this Monday to Wednesday and asked me to supervise him for Chinese. He said my house has this “study-mode-atmosphere” that he can concentrate on his studies better, but why didn’t i realise this? Had his science practical exam this Thursday; hope he can get his first choice, Temasek Poly’s Child Psychology.

Decided to name my P1 tuition kid 死小孩 … Cos’ of the PSLE marking, he had a 1 week holiday and his father asked me to tutor him for 4 days straight. Been dragging myself up from my cosy bed every morning before 8.30am to face a monster that simply loves to throw tantrums. Irritating fellow who acts clever, but actually knows nothing much at all. Simple maths sums, he can’t do; Chinese, he hates writing Hanyu PinYin cos’ he is not good at them; English; it’s the only subject that he hasn’t been giving me problems. His P3 sister is well-mannered; i like her. Liked my Sec 3 tution kid too; maybe cos’ of the smaller age gap, we can communicate like friends and he does the work i asked him too. 

Attended a talk yesterday and watched Yasmin Ahmad’s flim, “Sepet” (The Chinese Eyes《单眼皮》) … It’s a story on the love between a Chinese boy and Malay girl in Malaysia; i hate sad endings … Of course, it wouldn’t be a talk if we are only talking about the “forbidden” love between Chinese and Malays; a constructed-reflection of the superiority of Malays over Chinese in Malaysia?; the fate of Chinese in Malaysia?; HongKong culture; Gender issues???

Thinking of dropping by Salvation Army this Sunday to donate my clothes. Instead of selling them to the garung guni for a petty amount of money, i thought i should accumulate some good karma. Mummy and “her Mummy” decided that they wanted to donate their clothes too … Mummy even said my brothers had a lot of clothes they don’t want, so i guess we will probably get my Daddy to drive us down …  

Oops, they are not open on Sundays, maybe next Saturday then …

Having a family gathering with my maternal relatives later in the evening; XuanXuan’s Mummy invited us to a BBQ dinner at her condo …

P.S: I think i have more content to plot out 《溏心风暴》5 soon …

Bon Voyage

My parents went off to a holiday with my Granny today; 5D4N Taiwan Tour … Taking the 8am flight at Terminal 3, i supposed they had reached their destination by now … Wonder why they haven’t call me yet?

Helped them booked a cab in the morning, left a post-it-note on my 小弟’s room to remind him about Delifrance’s chicken mushroom pies for breakfast and went back to sleep again …

Alone in the house now cos 小弟and 大弟 in army … But 小弟is only handling admin duties so will be back after 6pm; 大弟will be back tomorrow cos’ of the public holiday …

Anyway, Bon Voyage to my parents and Granny … Hope they buy tons of presents for me … BoOoOoOoOoOo

PSLE Maths Paper 2009

This is one of the more difficult questions in this year’s PSLE Maths paper …

Jimmy bought some chocolates and shared half of the total number with Kenny.
Kenny bought some sweets and shared half of the total number with Jimmy.
Jimmy ate 12 sweets and Kenny ate 18 chocolates.
Now, the ratio of Jimmy’s number of sweets to chocolates is 1:7; Kenny’s number of sweets to chocolates is 1:4.
So, how many sweets did Kenny buy in the first place?

Tried solving it but i just gave up after 2 tries, cos no point wasting my brain-juice over something that i wasn’t required to do … Pity my younger cousin; i think he will be a gone-case … =(

NTU DOC Mid-Autumn Celebration 2009

AY dragged us along yesterday, cos it’s our final year to celebrate the festival as students …

Spent my afternoon in the 王赓武 library writing my FYP chapter 1 … The good news was, i managed to finish a draft version, around 2,300 words; up to more editing since end of October is still some distance away … But i can use the time to rush out my HC362 presentation and report, MB106 report and my FYP chapter 2 …

More teasing-sessions … Yes, i am short; my hair takes forever to grow, BoOoOooOoOo … Beware of karma and my dear “vodoo-doll-poking-sessions”, LOL =P

 Arrived late cos we thought not many people would be on time , but surprisingly, it was packed and 柯老师 was giving his speech … Waited till everyone scattered around, then we walked in … PHOTO-TIME!!!

Thanks you Entia, for treating us to 龙须糖 …

The only good thing i heard yesterday; WeiXuan said i looked “intellectual” in this outfit … I shall take that as a compliment, LOL … LingLing said this outfit made me looked even shorter, i thought otherwise. It’s just a different style, more mature, but maybe i should wear heels then …

The girls decided to tip-toe to match LingLing’s height … But even with everyone tip-toeing, she still had to bend her knees … Yes, i know she’s tall …

“A thorn among the roses” sounds belittling … Afterall, guys are the “endangered species” in our faculty, LOL …

They said i looked “hum sup” in this photo … NoOoOoOoOoO, i am just checking if AY was done with her posing … BoOoOoOoOo …

With 许老师 and 魏老师 … Had a long conversation with 许老师 over our FYP stuff … Since he specialized in sex studies and also did an article on 董启章, AY and I talked pretty much … Recommended us some sites instead of just relying on CNKI and WanFang to read other reseach papers; should probably find some time to hold another “intellectual” discussion with him for my FYP …
